If you’re worried about sounding like you’re bragging about yourself, tell your anecdotes in the third person though the eyes of your client or your boss.
For example, rather than saying, “I executed the project in half the time we expected it to take,” you could say, “My boss couldn’t believe we pulled it off in the time frame we had. In fact, he bet me $5 that we couldn’t. It was very sweet collecting that bet.”
